Forty-three-year-old Michael walked into the George Washington University Hospital Emergency Room complaining of chest pain. The Washington D.C. handyman had no health insurance but was not eligible for any financial assistance programs.
Cardiac Kids Program

Objective: Teach children ages K-8th the importance of good heart care and how their philanthropic efforts will save a life in their community.
Program: Time span to be determined (can be one month with events up to 3 months). Local physicans , dieticians and physical fitness groups will participate in heart care teaching. Foundation executives work with school administration to educate staff and children on life saving fundrasing
Program highlights: Students are taught about heart health by physicians: subjects range from antomy, types of heart disease and prevention. Dieticians show programs on how to deal with eating better and stopping child obesity by showing positive choices. Partnership for school fundraising event to be aligned with school goals with 100% of funds going to local individual in need of care
Expected outcomes: Increased awareness around affects of making good choices in heart care, knowledge of how a person’s heart works and how it can be repaired if the need arises. Students will meet patient saved from their fundraising events and have an on-going connection to the patient for the entire school year and there after.
Promotion: The Foundation will create a special message from Larry King to the students and faculity of the school. PR and awareness campaigans will be designed by Foundation and school administrators.
